Greetings fellow members and May the Fish be with You! The next general meeting of our club is Wednesday, January 12, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. in the social hall. Our Financial Secretary, Kevin Jenniges reported that about 70 members have paid their dues. Thanks to all the members who have given of their time and have helped out at the Fish Fry’s thus far. The final two fish fries will require lots of help, especially March 14th. If you have not yet volunteered, please consider stepping up and taking your turn. The club does need your help. Besides, you may have a few laughs and meet some of your friends.
NEW BUSINESS:
Joe Stevens is back safely from his whirlwind world tour. Joe reported at the Board Meeting regarding the Romanian Dinner and Fundraiser to be held in June. Joe also requested a donation from the club on behalf of the Knights of Columbus for purchasing 2 tickets for the Wakota Life Care Center fundraiser.
This will be discussed at the general meeting.
MEAT RAFFLES:
Wayne Gilbertson has been doing it all for us at Gallagher’s Bar during the Fish Fry’s. If anyone would prefer to help out Wayne instead of helping at the social hall, Wayne could sure use the help. We have received and deposited another check from the February meat raffles.

February 7th, 2008
Hello everyone, this is Bob Creamer pinch-hitting for Jim Brengman who is out traveling on business, hope all is well with you.
FISH FRIES:
Fish fries begin this Friday February 8th; the first week’s sponsor is Home and School. For those who receive this e-mail we can use your help this week and for those who get it via U.S. mail we can use your help in the coming weeks. This year we are looking to expand our delivery territory to include one more stop on the West Side and two in W.S.P. You know our boy Tim Nowak, he is always looking for new and better ways to generate business, what would we do with out him.
BIG GAME PARTY:
The big game party was a success this year. We had a good turn out, we generated a nice profit and the right team won, well at least for me. Thanks to those who organized and worked at the party.
MEAT RAFFLES:
Meat raffles are picking up slightly. Wayne Gilbertson will be doing them by himself on Fridays during Lent so if you aren’t doing anything (like helping at the fries) swing by Gallagher’s and give him a hand. Saturdays are always open for help, new faces might help sell more boards.
ICE FISHING:
Ice fishing went well, lots of fish were caught, Bob B and Greg A have pictures to prove it, check them out at the meeting. Thanks to Brian Osborne for organizing it.
KITCHEN NEWS:
The new stove and oven are up and running the dishwasher will be put in soon, I think next week. Thanks to Brian Osborn and David Rosas for the extra effort to get them installed. Also, Tim Nowak secured a couple of nice donations for the equipment. One donation came from the So Robert St Business Assn, the other from the WSP Commercial Club.
SICK and VIGIL:
Our friends Tom Maloney and Harry Brady along with Harry’s wife Char are experiencing some health problems, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
OTHER CLUB NEWS:
Greg Arigoni’s son Nate sent us a thank you from Iraq. He appreciated the treats that were sent and shared them with his friends. He said the temps around Christmas were 30 – 50 degrees and believe it or not he misses snow. Say a little prayer for Nate and for the others serving in the military.
We also got a thank you from the West 7th Community Center for our $200.00 dollar donation.
See You Guys At The Next Meeting!
Bob

January 2, 2008
Greetings fellow members and Happy New Year to all. The next general meeting of our club is Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. in the social hall. Our Financial Secretary, Kevin Jenniges says that 2008 dues are due, still only $15.00. A huge thanks goes out to all the members and their guests who supported our Christmas Auction and helped make it the best it’s ever been. About 750.00 were taken in which helped 40 families have a better Christmas.
Thanks to Santa, Harry, Tim and Dennis for all their help.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: re: Red Can
It has been recommended by the board because of the continuing increase in cost of supplies and gas in general for anything that has to be transported, that effective immediately, the suggested red can donation should be increased to at least $2.00. Some may have been giving more already and we thank you for that. But if we all put in at least 2 bucks it will help defray meal and mailing costs to the club. Give what you can afford to donate. -Thanks.
BIG GAME PARTY: (formerly known as the Super Bowl Party)
Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 4:30 in our social hall. Adults-$10.00, children 13 and under-$5.00. Good times and good treats are in order.
MEAT RAFFLES:
Tim Nowak reported that we had a very prosperous December and will have a final tally for us at the meeting. He still could use some help - 5:30 p.m. Friday nights and Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. – Gallagher’s. Thanks to Tim, Wayne, Jimmy and Dean for all your help over the last year.
The manger scene will be taken down on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. Refreshments will be served following. Dennis thanks you in advance.
Ice Fishing Party:
Brian and Kevin are organizing an ice-fishing derby to be held Saturday, January 26, at Bald Eagle Lake. 12:00 noon-cost- to be announced at the meeting.
Finally, a new range and oven has been ordered and is being shipped as I write this letter. We are also in need of a new dishwasher for the kitchen and that is also being priced and picked out.
Peace be with you all and see you at the meeting.
Faithfully yours,
Jim Brengman
