with flowers.
Maintenance and upkeep will need to be addressed,
a bulletin announcement will be made to find volunteers. Cement
wall will also be colored to match the church building.
EAC Committee Report: Childcare
center up to 56 FT equiv., possibly 60 by May. NH still in the
picture,
could have
a participation agreement to satisfy a governance
structure doc req’d by United Way to continue
daycare funds to NH & subsidize families
transitioning to St. Matt’s
Daycare.
Finance Committee Report: budget meetings
set for May 12 and May 19 to set 2004 baseline.
Also
will need
to establish
timing for Stewardship drive (Fall VS Winter).
Hiring Update: Several candidates
lining up for Scott Breimhorst’s
position, many with Archdiocese and School Principal experience.
We should be interviewing candidates by mid-May. Patty’s
replacement search has brought forth candidates
who may also be capable of providing more toward
a Parish
operations
manager role as well as financial reporting. Finance
committee has considered this possibility and may
pursue a person
who can fill this expanded role.
Parish Enrichment: Reflections
on Vatican II conference held on Sunday evening, March 30,
hosted about
160 attendants. The video and copies of recordings
are
made available
for purchase. Further advertisement of this
recording may be
made in Catholic Spirit and on the St-Matts.org
web site. Fr. Steve has been contacted by Touchstones
to submit
an article for their publication describing
the conference
and the St. Matthew’s 2003 Lenten theme.
A further mention of the March 30 conference tape
could
be made.
Changing Bylaws for upcoming elections: Fr. Steve
has found additional resources to assist the
Parish Council
(PC)
with moving forward. St. Matt’s alumni Joe
Lansberger, an active member of St. Paul Society
of Friends, could
meet with us for the May 22 or May 29 meeting to
give us insights into their discernment process.
Enrichment committee
could also attend this meeting. Jesuit House and
Sisters of Cenacle are other possible resources.
Past PC members
may also be asked for their guidance.
Meeting adjourned 9 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Marty Olson, Secretary, Parish Council
