For any school to be successful, parents must be involved. Whether that means checking to see if their child’s homework is completed or serving on a school committee, St. Matthew’s relies on the support and involvement of parents.
We also recognize that everyone’s family situation is different and that some families have more time to give than others. Consequently, while we expect every parent to be involved, we leave it to individual families to choose what level of involvement is right for them. Here are a few of the many opportunities:
This is an advisory committee to the school administration. It helps develop and define the policies that govern St. Matthew’s educational programs. In particular the EAC addresses:
All parents with students enrolled in St. Matthew’s School are automatically members of this group. The H&S is an association of parents and staff that provides service to the school throughout the year. Their main activities include:
During the school year, St. Matthew’s schedules many field trips for students that require additional adult supervision and sometimes drivers. Whether it’s visiting a farm or a museum, going to a play or a picnic, parents are invited to come along and help ensure a safe and successful outing.
