What are the School Hours?
Our current School Hours are 8:05 a.m. – 2:35 p.m.
School Office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Do you offer an Extended Day Program?
YES! KLT (Kids Learning Together) at St. Matthew’s is open from
6:00 a.m. –
6:00 p.m. throughout the school year and also offers a full summer program.
We also have a child care center for children 6 weeks – 5 years.
Do students wear uniforms?
YES! All students, K – 8, wear the school uniform.
Is tuition assistance available?
YES! We try to keep our tuition as low as possible and offer grants
and other types of need-based assistance.
Do you teach a foreign language?
YES! Every student receives Spanish instruction twice weekly.
Do you have other teaching specialists?
YES! Each student meets with Physical Education/Health, Library/Media,
Technology, Music, and Art specialists each week.
Do you have an Athletic Program?
YES! Students in grades 5 – 8 participate in volleyball, soccer, basketball,
softball, and baseball through the Catholic Athletic Association (CAA).
Do the students participate in worship?
YES! As a school community we celebrate liturgy and prayer services throughout
the year. Grades 2 – 8 attend mass every other week. Kindergarten
and 1st grade attend 6 masses throughout the year with the other grades.
Father Stephen Adrian, our Pastor, makes extra visits to their classrooms
to teach age appropriate lessons.
Do you accept non-Catholic students for enrollment?
Yes! St. Matthew’s School welcomes all families, Catholic and non-Catholic,
who appreciate the values, spirit and tradition of Catholic education.
Do you encourage social justice?
YES! Students in each grade level participate in a variety of service
learning projects throughout the year.
Do graduates from St. Matthew’s adjust to large enrollment high schools?
Yes! As a result of the individual attention they get at St. Matthew’s
and the rigorous standards we maintain, our students excel in high school
as demonstrated by the many academic honors and recognition they’ve
received in recent years.
Do you offer a Hot Lunch Program?
YES! Food is prepared on-site daily. Free and Reduced Lunch prices are
available for those who qualify.
Is transportation available?
YES! Students who live in the St. Paul School District, at least one mile
from the school are eligible for the district bus. Door to door van service
is available for an additional fee to most areas.
